French fashion house Maison Martin Margiela announced its second collaboration with Converse Inc. “The Maison has always been obsessed with white: it is used as a layer to give an incognito feeling. A sort of poetry with the passage of time, the shoe asserts itself,” said Margiela of the first collaboration. Now due to that success, here comes the second one , the upgraded version. The difference being instead of canvas the shoe is made from premium ultra soft leather. The first string of the global launch will include the Converse Jack Purcell which will be available in Azure Blue and Biking Red, and the Converse All Star Chuck ’70 which will be available in Amber Glow and True Navy. As you can see from the photos, all the sneakers will be hand painted with a white coat of paint. As they wear, the paint cracks and the vibrant colors peek through. The laces come in painted and non painted options. The subtle yet recognizable Maison Martin Margiela logo will be featured on the tongue of the sneaker. This is the type of originality we could only expect from the fashion forward MMM.
This limited edition collaboration will be available Friday, May 23rd in Soho, San Fransisco and Santa Monica stores. They will retail for $250.
